Our weekly Health & Wellness contributor, Kelly Hughes Roberts has just published her first novel, The Road to Chianti, which introduces her readers to the authentic culture, cuisine, traditions, and history of the Tuscan countryside. A book full of adventure targeted to middle-grade and young adults, the novel is also finding a special place in the hearts of adults as well.

“It’s my biggest dream and aspiration come true,” says Roberts. “It’s taken a lot longer than I ever planned, but the time, work, and energy put into this book is well worth it!

Set in 1977, “The Road to Chianti” follows two young orphans as they struggle to find a place to call home after their parents are killed in a devastating accident. An action packed journey

through cobblestone streets, dark forests, and gorgeous piazzas, it explores the power of love to triumph over adversity and the importance of having a place to call your own.

Roberts is a Salisbury University graduate, with a bachelor’s degree in communications. When she’s not writing, she spends her time teaching Pilates, health, and wellness, while also raising her two small children.

Copies of “The Road to Chianti” can be found at her website, Amazon and Barnes and Noble. There is also an eBook version at Amazon. Roberts will also be self-promoting her book throughout the community. In Berlin, The Globe is hosting a book signing and wine tasting from 1-3 p.m. on Dec 1.
