Locals Boys with New Albums – Pasadena and Bryan Russo
By Chris Ferron
Pasadena played at Pickles this past Friday night to celebrate their album release and it was awesome. They were missing their trumpet player Rodney but they were still getting after it. They always bring out a big crowd and last night was no exception.
Pasadena is very big on the east coast and they play all up and down it when they tour and always ending up back in Pasadena, Maryland – their home town. They have a great sound and I’ll be going to see them at the Dewey Beach Music Festival. Hope to see you all there rocking out.

There was music everywhere in Dewey Beach this weekend for the Dewey Beach Music Conference. Over 120 bands played at local restaurant’s, bars, and hangout spots all over Dewey Beach. After walking all around Dewey I eventually set up at Jimmy’s Grille to listen to Bryan Russo.
Bryan has really been making a name for himself recently putting out his album “Sound The Alarms” on iTunes. He also just opened for the Black Key and Arctic Monkeys at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. His show at Jimmy’s was a much smaller crowd than the one in Philly but he still gave us a stellar performance. This wasn’t the first time I’ve seen Bryan play but I was impressed once again with his rough/soulful voice, his excellent guitar skills, smooth piano playing, and the way he stomps the box for percussion.
