Highlights of The Starboard Opening Weekend | Dewey Beach Events

Between Natalee breaking her toe and Todd literally selling the shirt off of his back, it’s a miracle we are living to tell this sordid tale. All jokes aside, the three-day extravaganza went off without a hitch and served as a very welcome reminder as to why we LOVE what we do. It’s no secret that The Starboard is one of our biggest clients over at GCFL Productions, but it’s not just the paycheck that keeps us frequenting the popular Dewey Beach bar (or the ridiculously good looking people..although that is a contributing factor); we legitimately have a fucking blast every time we go…both on and off the clock. So, with that being said, we’re rounding up the Top Three Highlights from Opening Weekend:

1. The Old Gang’s Back: The Starboard crew, many of whom spent the winter getting tan and traveling the world like the rockstars they are, are finally back! Not everyone left of course, but it’s always nice to see the old gang get back together to sling drinks. Todd stuck around until after closing, which was the highlight of his entire weekend (well, the PG-13 highlight at least). Watching a very exhausted staff rehash a hard day’s work and revel in their spoils made braving the crowds ‘til the very end worthwhile.
2. Introducing the 360 Camera: Introducing our latest toy was a highlight of course, but it was almost trumped by the rush of seeing past footage displayed on the big screens. And as if that ‘we’ve made it’ moment couldn’t get any sweeter, people were seeking us out in hopes of getting their pictures to make the final cut. Pretty sure we are well on our way to #makingithappen in 2016.
3. Shots and Crushes and Bloodys, Shots and Crushes and Bloodys: First stop at The Starboard was for an orange crush from Megan. I think. I’m not entirely sure, but I know there were orange crushes, Bloody Marys and several rounds of shots. The highlight of course was watching Dicky buy an entire tray of shots from Carly solely to help her replenish her travel fund. Now THAT’S a good boss.

We may only be two days into spring but summer IS coming which means our adventures at The Starboard have only just begun. Will Todd continue to sell his clothes to inebriated women? Will Natalee continue her love affair with tequila? Will there be a 3rd Annual bus trip from Berlin to The Starboard? And more importantly, will yours truly, Tina Belcher, finally talk to ‘hot Todd’??
