Adventuring this week took us to Baltimore to catch up with some friends, and to check out a great “new” spot in Federal Hill. Blue Agave on Light Street has been around for the last several years, but in name only. Ownership changed this spring, and with the new owners has come some changes that are sure to please, including adding tacos to the menu!
We decided to stop by for Sunday brunch and are already planning a visit back. Luckily we had the opportunity to sit down with one of the new owner/operators, Brian Acquavella, and talk about all of the changes they have been making and the direction the establishment is headed in and the ideas for future growth. Blue Agave has spacious dining room, beautiful bar area including the Don Julio Tequila Bottle Club, which I may be joining one of these days. Over 100 tequilas available, with many options for tasting flights or build your own from an extensive menu that includes listing the flavor profiles. Always thought I preferred Patron until I had the chance to taste a couple side by side.
Perfect crispy tortilla chips served with 3 options of fresh salsas were set in front of us while we were perusing the menu and drinking an amazing specialty margarita. For our meal we ordered something from the Brunch menu as well as the Lunch menu and devoured both! The breakfast burrito was incredibly fresh, and ordered with a side of chorizo, while I enjoyed the Carne Asada Rojo enchiladas, just thinking about it makes my mouth water!
For those of you in the Baltimore area, we highly suggest making a trip to Blue Agave in Federal Hill, open for lunch and dinner daily beginning at 11 am, and brunch on Sundays!
