One thing that has been missing from my life of late is entertaining. In the past we have had annual theme parties and large family friendly holiday gatherings, but with having the house on the market we have not the chance. Autumn brings with it beautiful weather, but also lots of fun events around the area. This weekend for one is the 19th Annual Berlin Fiddlers Convention. I know what you are thinking, Fiddlers? Well, this is an event you need to experience in person before any judgement passes. The event begins Friday night, the streets are lined with hay bales, roads closed and the whole town is full of music. Competitions of Adult & Youth Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, Banjo and Bluegrass Band. We will be in town enjoying the original music and small town fun. Our chance for some light entertaining will come about on Sunday morning, as the convention moves down the road to the Taylor House Museum, which happens to be across from our new home. We would love to extend the invite for you to join us on the front porch of the Humphreys House to enjoy the Bluegrass Gospel Jam beginning at 11 am, and enjoy some bloody marys and mimosas! Once we get the home done we will most definitely get back to our old entertaining ways.

As another local note, GCFL has now joined the Berlin Chamber of Commerce, and is so glad to be a part of the business community in our community. By growing the chamber of commerce, and getting involved in local events and businesses, we all can help the local economy to grow stronger. If you have not had the chance to check out the new Chamber office and Visitor Center, head down Main Street and walk in for yourself!
