Today begins the 18th Annual Poor Girls Open, the ladies only billfish release tournament in Ocean City, MD, benefitting breast cancer research. Attending the registration last night was a cool experience, to see so many women coming together for such a good cause, a fun experience and Ocean City tradition. I have been offshore a couple times a handful of years ago, and have been longing to get back out, but to do so is rather expensive so I have been putting it off. This year, a friend has pulled together a great group of ladies,  along with some sponsors to help cover the cost. The tournament is Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with each angler fishing one of the days. We will be going out on Saturday, and I am very excited to get out there again, and will keep my fingers crossed for good conditions and no sea-sickness!

Living the shore lifestyle has its privileges, having the experience to go offshore is definitely one of them!
