1+1=6….Wait….what? Art Show

Last Saturday, as the rest of the GCFL crew tried to shake the grip of delicious hop, malt, and barley offerings from some of the mid-atlantics finest brewers, yours truly headed into the night towards more visually stimulating endeavors. This could only point in one direction, towards Matt Dove’s Punk Rock Fish in West Ocean City for the 1+1=6 art show. Despite the shows mathematically challenged title, all became clear upon my arrival. On display were 6 pieces of art, 4 of which were formed by one artist starting the project and then letting the other artist finish. This collaboration, starting with solo pieces, allowed the viewers to see the differences in approach to each piece and observe how the two artists blended together their respective styles.

The collaborators in question were Little Chico of Black Cobra Tattoo, and Nathan Britko. Nathan uses objects, colors, and shapes to form his pieces creating a juxtaposition with Little Chico’s bright vibrant tattoo style. You can check out more of Nathan Britko’s  and Little Chico’s work. Keep your eyes on Punk Rock Fish for their next awesome Exhibition, as I said in this weeks Happy Hour Podcast, it’s ALWAYS a good time.

We also need to send a big shout out to local artist Patrick Henry. He showed up to talk shop with the artists and even took a piece home for his own collection.
