Patti Backer is an artist and illustrator living in Berlin, MD working mainly on painted furniture and paintings on wood. Her art is a mixture of folk and lowbrow, cute and sinister. It has been featured in art shows and galleries in Salt Lake City, UT, Las Vegas, NV, Washington DC, Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD as well as the Eastern shore of Maryland and Delaware. The creatures Patti creates often have big eyes, sharp teeth and sometimes, bad human-like habits.
She attended Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore City, only to realize her imagination was better left unstructured and allowed to roam free.
