In Atlantic City for the first time as an adult for a wedding. We have spent the day leading up to the event, by walking the boards, window shopping and ended up at the Tropicana, ready for lunch. Walked into a realm of great restaurants and decided on Cuba Libre.
We sat down at the bar, looked over the drink menu. Not typically being Rum drinkers, we asked for a recommendation from the friendly knowledgeable bartender. I ordered the Caipirnha, made with Leblon Cachaca and fresh lemon and lime juices, and Todd was served the Primo Mojito, also blended with fresh squeezed juices and the Cuba Libre 5 year Rum…Both were extremely refreshing and delightful. If we didn’t have a wedding to go to in a few short hours I would have had another 1 or 2…
Of course being in a Cuban restaurant, enjoying beverages, we needed some good grub to go along with…Decided upon a couple small plates to get a taste. Batata con Camarones, Cuban pesto marinated grilled shrimp served with roasted sweet potato and Arugala salad. Incredible, fresh , tasty with just enough bite. The other dish we ordered was Guacamole Cubano, of course avocado, but with golden pineapple, served with plaintain chips. Again..amazing combination of flavor and texture. Love trying new things, always keeping us on our toes and exposing us to new culinary delights.
