Halfway through summer and its been a great one for Dewey Beach. When we started this show, the idea was and still is to get any number of businesses and people involved. Just as The Starboard is the heart of Dewey and is the home base for our Porch interviews, this week I ventured across the Highway to grab a sammie and a beer at Starboard Raw. What can I say! Its a great name. Had a quick chat with Jess who is serving at Dewey’s newest addition offering a great selection of oysters and craft beer.
There is always great live entertainment in Dewey and a Sunday afternoon is no different. Kristen and Johnny were playing on the deck of the Starboard and I caught up with the pint sized ball of energy Kristen on a quick set break. Everyone has a Dewey story, sometimes its remembering them thats the problem. Kristen talked about the 3 Hour set she played on Memorial Day weekend which would be nearly impossible to forget.
Dewey Beach is of course a very popular place to gather, whether for a family get together or a girls weekend. I caught up with a gaggle of sunglassed women that had been going strong all weekend. Recovering with some crushes after checking out the Love Seed Momma Jump 25th anniversary show as well as getting a bit of operatic culture.
And of course lets not forget the ramblings of Todd and Elliot who were joined by Ben this week for some porch interviews from the smoking deck.
