Shell Shocked 2015 ReCap | Ocean City MD Events

Of course we were thrilled for the Fager’s crew and everyone involved in the annual booze-oyster fest, but for our friends that weren’t able to nab their tickets earlier, we were saddened. Nonetheless, we pushed forward in our adventures, and soon forgot about the poor saps who didn’t get to join us in the festivities. With a seemingly endless supply of oysters at our disposal and a steady flow of Evo’s finest, who needs friends.

We’ll start with the oysters. Some of you may be saying, ‘eh, I’m not a raw oyster person.’ Well to you I say, be gone. Be gone from my life and be gone from reading this post because at GCFL we love oysters. Fried, raw, soaking in a stew….we’ll take ‘em however we can get ‘em. Shell Shocked did not disappoint, and in fact, had all of the above available to feast on. The line for the fried oysters (along with the ribs, chicken, baked beans, slaw, oyster stew, etc…) was long but WELL worth the wait once I got to sink my teeth into those perfectly fried gems. Raw oysters were being shucked at stations positioned throughout the bar and restaurant and after putting back about a dozen, I safely concluded that they were as delicious as I anticipated. Paired with the Evo pours (and later a few glasses of wine), it was the type of Saturday lunch that heros are made off of.

Sweet Leda. Sweet, sweet, sweet Sweet Leda. We love these guys and have for quite some time now. Aside from being amazing musicians, they are truly amazing people, which truth be told isn’t always the case. Once again, they rocked it. Killing Me Softly was so powerful in fact that I actually took a break from running my mouth and inhaling oysters so that I could sit and simply enjoy the goosebump-evoking moment. Now THAT’S saying something.
